Reflection

Teens and young adults are an age group I have predominantly been drawn to within the therapy world. Although I am still within the stages of late adolescence, there are many things within these stages that I want to know more about. Having an understanding as to the human development among adolescents has been very eye opening as to how certain aspects can affect them. The different theories associated like Vygotky's and Erikson's show how important it is to develop social interactions with others, but also how the lack of social interactions affect us later on in adulthood. There are many aspects as to why someone may be more social or why someone may not be social at all. Not many people understand that and it has changed my view on others and makes me try to see things from their point of view. There is definitely more for me to learn especially within different human development theories and how to apply them in the counseling setting, but also using them in conjunction with counseling theories in my own professional setting and development.
